Robots Aid in Automation World

The robots usage in automation is getting popular. The robots are already being used widely in auto-manufacturing and surgical processes. Robots participation has also increased at warehousing, healthcare applications and at order fulfillment processes.

The automation technology with robots is being using in many organization for preventing the human errors and decreasing the human risks. These robotic automation is more cost effective, it provides more job efficiencies as robots take less rest time. The organizations are increasing productivity with the robotic technology. The robotic technology is very profitable at risky workplaces like chemical industries, nuclear industries and heavy heat work places.

Automobile manufacturing industries use the automation technology with the robotic technology. They are using robots in their manufacturing processes as programmed robots perform their tasks properly. Auto-manufacturing industries use the robotic automation in fitting process, welding process, coloring process and more.

Robots usage at hospitals has been increasing. They are providing many services at operation theaters. Many hospitals are using these robots in sensitive surgeries like eye surgery, heart surgery etc.

Robotic automation produces effective results and prevents the dangers. Robots do the activities along with installed programs. They are very much profitable to the organizations.

Upgrading the Technology of Automation Appliances

The automation technology changed the organizational working behavior with its risk free features. Automation in machinery reduces the human involvement in processes, it gives error free results. Many organizations are using these automation machines in their risky processes. Hence, upgrading of automation technology increases the benefits for the automation appliance users.

Upgrading the technology is required when the performance of automation process comes down. Technology upgrading improves the process performance, decreases the unpredictable repairs in process and reduces the maintenance expenses. Upgrading is required when the old systems need new system connectivity. The technology upgrading in automation increase the process performances.

Technology upgrading should have proper plan and strategies which are very important for economic forward. Automation appliances upgrading can be done with software upgrades or hardware upgrades. Software upgrading includes the application programs testing, operation interface upgrading, whereas, hardware upgrading can be done with controllers upgrading, drivers upgrading and motors upgrading.

The technology upgrading in automation should be always user friendly. Upgrading in automation should increase the performance of the automation and should be profitable to the user.

Applications Of Automation On Utilities.

The major utilities of any enterprise will include the Power generation and fault correction utilities. For the past two decades the utility systems automation is undergoing a slow but a uniform automation. But now automation is being used tremendously. The electrical Utility systems automation market has been categorized into two main categories.

Real Time Automation And Control (RTAC) includes which is especially not limited to real time data acquisition and control products, systems and services for
  1. Transmission and distribution of management solutions
  2. Substation automation which includes intelligence electronic devices and control.
  3. Field data devices for transmission and distribution automation and even for substation automation.
Geospatial and field automation solutions (GFAS) including but it is also not necessarily limited to
  1. Traditional AM/FM/GIS (automated mapping/facilities management/geographic information systems) products, services and systems etc.
  2. Outage management, work management, work force management and mobile computing solutions.
RTAC and GFAS cut across a lot of utilities of T&D infrastructure. Modern protection technology allows some possibilities which are used for optimizing the operation of the network by combining with the automation applications. On other hand Distribution Automation (DA) application employment may result in some impact on relaying. Protective relays and controls are the two important key parts of DA-they provide controls-they also may be used to execute controls. DA varies for various means it is called as smart grids, and for some of them it is called as capacitor controls. Some of the applications of the DA are:
  • -Remote controlling of feeder reclosers and switches
  • -automatic reconfiguration of feeders by remote controlling of feeder reclosers and switches which includes fault detection.
  • -Detection of the fault at distribution feeder devices.
  • -based on the wave shape analysis fault location can be detected.
  • -control of capacitors
  • - Sensors on the distribution systems control voltages.
  • -power quality (Harmonic content) measurements.
  • -Distribution line monitoring (Power Measurements).
  • -Distribution of the underground network and network grid monitoring and control
  • -Dispersed generation and micro-grids.
Utilities executives are giving much concern on address pressing environmental concerns as well as for the threat of terrorist attacks and the potential danger of natural disasters. Because of automation there are huge lump of services being done and for power availability and the decreasing the outage instances and the outage impact can be lessened by using automation. The utilities sector is complex and changing rapidly as companies require new models of value creation.

Benefits Of Retail Automation

Automation of retail stores provides many benefits to retail stores and also the customers. Few benefits are:
  • Faster Billing: Automated systems can read many items at one time thus decreasing the time involved in generating a bill. This helps in directly boosting up sales.
  • Customer Management: RFID based stand helps the customers to get complete product information just by placing the item to it. This help in increasing sales. It also helps in recording all customer purchase details in the server when the bill is created.
  • Security: RFID provides real time visibility at each strategic points, problems like shrink, resulting from employee theft, shoplifting, administrative and paper error and vendor fraud can be simply reduced using this technology.
  • Tracking of goods: The hand held reader helps in tracking certain goods in the back store quickly whereas manually it may consume lot of time to find a good where several goods are accumulated together in an unorganized pattern.
  • Age Analysis: Tagging of products helps in identifying items quickly which are old. Manual identification of such items is a big pain for the employee. This would also guarantee quality product sold to the customers and old stock are removed in time decreasing material cost.
  • Stock Verification: Using a hand held reader can recognize and collect information of many items in a day. This helps to quicken the process of stock collecting and verification but also makes stock taking on a more repeated basis which increases productivity.
  • Monitoring items: Helps in supervising items on the shelves and produces an alert if certain item is absent from the shelf informing quick replacement.
  • Better Product Management: Using the technology the employee can easily know whether a particular good is present in the front or back store and can serve the customer without any delays.
