Comparing Oil-filled and Ceramic Heaters

It's quite difficult to make a right choice when planning to have an effective heater to overcome the chilled areas in your home. Ceramic and oil-filled space heaters are some of the space heaters which are popularly used. Go through to know the comparison of these two heaters and make a right choice between them.

Oil-filled space heaters are convection heaters, whereas, ceramic heaters are available in both convection and radiant models. In oil-filled heaters, the heating element heats up the oil which passes it to the air. The heated air passes throughout the room by natural air currents. Ceramic space heaters have ceramic plates as heating elements. They absorb the heat generated by the electric coils and pass on to the air. Ceramic convection heaters heat up the air, whereas, ceramic radiant heaters emit infrared radiation that strikes the individuals and objects in the room directly.

When compared to ceramic space heaters, oil-filled space heaters warm up the air more slowly. They also use less energy for a long period of time. However, the capacity of oil-filled space heaters is much higher than that of ceramic heaters. It's better to prefer an oil-filled space heater when wishing to keep your room warm for an extended period.

Oil-filled heaters look like traditional heaters and are larger in size than ceramic heaters. They are also more expensive than ceramic heaters. Proper maintenance measures should be followed to ensure perfect functioning of the two types of heaters. Both of them have there own advantages and disadvantages and hence, be careful to select the right heater.
