What are the Safety Glow Sticks?

Safety glow sticks are usually of two types. One is glow stick made up of chemicals and other is glow stick made of LED's. Both are very functional during emergency situations like the natural disasters, black outs and general car breakdowns and power outages at home. It is always better to have a couple of them in the emergency kits in every household.

Even though they are similar to regular glow sticks, they came first prior to glow sticks and are used only for emergency situations. They are generally available in green and yellow colors which resemble the symbol of rescue and safety. These are either made up of high quality chemicals or high quality LED lights for a better and reliable performance in the time of need. They glow much brighter than the regular glow sticks and lasts for quite longer time.

Unlike chemical safety glow sticks, the LED safety glow sticks work with batteries which also last for longer time. However timely replacement of the batteries makes them more effective and functional for various situations. They avoid the leakage of chemicals due to breaking of glow sticks and are also available in different modes of light.

Both the chemical based and LED based glow sticks are wind proof, water proof and are flame resistant. Hence they can be used under any hazardous environments. They even function pretty well in severe weather, under waters, and in explosive environment.

LED glow sticks are also used for many purposes. The on/off system of these sticks helps us to use them whenever required and hence helps us in saving energy. They are also available in different colors and sizes so that one can get a couple of them to make them a part of the household safety and emergency kits.
