Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is needed for the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin. Water-soluble vitamins are easily absorbed by the body and secreted through urine. The body stores only the required amount of this vitamin daily and the remaining is excreted through urine.
